When you receive care at Powell Valley, our highly trained pharmacy staff will help make sure you get the right dosage and clear instructions for taking your medication. That’s true whether you stay in our hospital or receive outpatient services.
A team who cares
Our pharmacy team includes registered and certified pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians. To better serve you, every member of the team takes part in continuing education programs in order to stay on top of the latest advances in their field.
But our pharmacists and staff aren’t just skilled and experienced—they’re kind and caring. They provide the level of care they would want for their own family and can be a big help when you have questions about your medicines.
Our pharmacy services
Our pharmacy team can assist in your medical care in a number of ways. For example, our team:
- Provides intravenous (IV) or injected medicines in our infusion clinic. Some of these may include antibiotics and drugs used to treat Crohn’s disease.
- Manages our anticoagulation clinic. The clinic is where patients receive drugs called blood thinners to prevent blood clots.
- Provides medicines for patients in our emergency department.
- Provides education about your medicines when you leave the hospital.
And if you ever have a stay in our hospital, you can rest assured: Our skilled pharmacists work closely with your doctors to help make sure you receive the safest, most effective medicines.
