Powell Valley Healthcare’s standard hospital charges

To improve transparency and allow patients to compare prices across hospitals, all U.S. hospitals are required to provide lists of standard hospital charges – commonly called a chargemaster.  Keep the following considerations in mind as you view the list of standard charges.

• Comparing line-item charges does not indicate the total cost of the service you receive. The chargemaster lists the gross charge for each service prior to any insurance contract/benefit plan discounts or self-pay discounts are applied.
• Charges differ from patient-to-patient for the same service due to variations in treatment.
• Patients who are eligible for financial assistance receive additional discounts.
• Charges vary across hospitals depending on a hospital’s charge methodology.  Some hospitals bundle multiple charges into one charge.
• Comparing varying hospitals’ charges does not provide an indication of quality of service or outcomes.

 To make medical pricing more transparent, all U.S. hospitals are required to provide the following pricing lists. The pricing is listed by the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code used by insurance companies. The lists are in a spreadsheet format.

PLEASE NOTE:  The pricing lists below show charges prior to contract negotiations with individual insurance plans.  They may be useful for comparing pricing with other hospitals, but they DO NOT indicate the actual costs to patients.
