POSITION SUMMARY:

Current Opening: One full-time position (40 hours per week)

Assesses, plans, researches, develops, conducts, and evaluates services and continuing education programs in collaboration with Clinical Education Development Coordinator. Ability to successfully present to groups of staff, plan educational opportunities, organize classes, and develop presentations. Must be positive and high energy. Must be familiar with programs such as CANVA, Share Point, and other Microsoft applications. Must have good organizational skills and work with the clinical education coordinator to provide high quality education for PVHC staff. Must be able to track staff education requirements and run reports as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains annual employee education defined by regulations.
  • Works with new employees to ensure they receive proper orientation and adequate training.
  • Provides ongoing development for staff with guidance from the Clinical Education Development Coordinator.
  • Works closely with and takes direction from the Clinical Education Development Coordinator.
  • Assist in preparation of education plan directed toward each professional discipline; assists with establishing priorities for staff educational needs.
  • Assists in establishing short- and long-term education goals; determine interventions to be used to meet the goals. 
  • Implement the education plan by securing appropriate resources.
  • Based on course evaluations, identify additional unmet learning needs and plan accordingly.
  • Assist in maintaining employee in-service training records and files both manually and computerized
  • Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and tracking of Continuing Medical Education for providers.
  • Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of special educational events.
  • Receives incoming calls and inquiries and direct callers to appropriate courses and services.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate’s degree or higher

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to learn PVHC policies and procedures, Microsoft office programs, Code of conduct, Corporate compliance, HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, Patient’s rights, Patient and employee safety standards, customer and personal Service Excellence skills, regulatory standards, and educational theory.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, compute rate, ratio, and percent in order to accurately determine medication dosages and establish accurate intravenous rates.
  • Competency in basic computer skills through the capacity to learn and apply electronic applications. 
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Speak and document clearly and concisely.
