POSITION SUMMARY:
Current Opening: One full-time position
Responsible for the Accounts Payable functions, processing invoices and other requests for payment utilizing computerized accounts payable applications of Powell Valley Health Care, Inc. Responsible for Payroll function, processing and reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the routine accounts payable functions utilizing appropriate financial software and other applications such as MS Word, Excel.
- Process invoices and other requests for payment through the A/P system on a timely basis, verifying authorization for payment through approved purchase order and/or authorized signatures, accuracy of invoice information, and allocating expenditures to correct cost centers or balance sheet accounts in appropriate accounting periods.
- Generate checks and control reporting from the A/P system on a regular basis, ensuring timely payment of invoices and application of discounts when appropriate.
- Generate manual checks for special requests, utilizing the controls noted above.
- Resolve quantity and price discrepancies on vendor invoices utilizing the AP module, working effectively with other staff and vendor representatives as needed.
- Prepare and distribute individual 1099 statements and reports for IRS purposes on an annual basis.
- Prepare required audit work papers and other supporting A/P documents during annual audits of PVHC.
- Cross train PHD payment processing with QuickBooks.
- Reconcile Vendor statements monthly.
- Assist in related departments, such as Materials & Patient Financial Services as needed.
- Process hours import from the Time and Attendance software, create payroll reports, balance all reports, provide files for ACH and process checks.
- Process all related taxes, benefits payments in a timely manner to avoid penalty.
- Create files to upload to General ledger.
- Provide training to new directors on Time and Attendance payroll approval process.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Good working knowledge and skills in essential bookkeeping functions.
- Skills in operation of typical office equipment such as PCs, printers, terminals, calculator, FAX, Copiers.
- Knowledge and experience in using, Windows Excel and Word as well as small business application, and Health Care systems Applications – primary focus on accounting and financial functions.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to understand the basic metric system.
- Draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Read, write and speak in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly lift or move objects weighing 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
