Patients and visitors
We welcome and encourage visitors to visit family and friends who are in the hospital. We have open visiting hours but ask that you please check with the front desk and/or nurses' station prior to visiting. A quiet hospital environment is very important for patients, who need their rest. We ask that all visitors please be cognizant of this. If you have questions concerning visiting hours, or to find the best times to visit your friends and family members, feel free to call us at 307.754.2267.
Our cafeteria is open seven days a week. We serve breakfast from 7:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and lunch from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In addition to our regular daily menu options, we provide a short-order grill and serve delicious grill items. Some of our customers say that you can't get a better hamburger anywhere in town. A full salad bar is available during lunch.
Complimentary coffee, tea and iced tea are available 24 hours in the cafeteria.
Waiting areas for family and friends are located throughout the hospital. The surgery waiting area is located right next to the surgery wing. This is where our nursing staff will look to update family and friends during surgical procedures.
PVHC volunteer services operates our hospital gift shop. The gift shop offers a great selection of gifts for newborns, cards for various occasions and various yummy treats. The volunteers also operate 2 candy and chip vending machines within the facility. One is located near the ER and the other near the inpatient medical/surgical unit. All proceeds from the gift shop and vending machines are used by the volunteers for local student scholarships and PVHC projects, such as new furniture for the waiting areas, blankets for residents in the Care Center, or even beauty shop equipment and supplies in the care center. The volunteers provide more than $12,000 each year for local students pursuing education in the healthcare field.
If you would like to join a great team of volunteers, please call Jim Cannon at 307.754.1104.
Chapel and quiet room
Our chapel is located on the southeast corner of the care center, just to the left of the main entrance. The chapel is open to visitors and family members. Local churches also hold services in the chapel on a rotating basis each Sunday for the residents in the care center.
There is also a quiet room available for visitors and family members located east of the obstetrics wing in the hospital.
As a healthcare provider, we are concerned for the health of all members of our community and our patients. Powell Valley Healthcare is a smoke-free campus, and smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor and outdoor areas.
